"Ormond Hotel 1902" Playground for the rich and famous

The Ormond Hotel was also known by the nickname The Flagler Hotel.

The hotel, a grand wooden structure, was built by John Anderson and Joseph Price

and opened in 1888.

It was later acquired by Henry Flagler, co-founder of Standard Oil and a key figure in

Florida's East Coast development, and became one of the premier hotels on his railway

line.
